Is the movie Max Payne the same as the video game?

In the movie max payne starring Mark Walhberg? Is it based of the video game Max Payne?

1. I would hope not, the movie would be incredibly boring after watching for about 10 mins. Especially if you played the game.

4. Probably not. So far, movies "based" on video games have held little resemblance to the actual game.
5. As far as i know Jim Bravura- Old white guy in the game, is now Ludacris Max's partner has a wife that apparently means somthing to the story. And there are cgi angles. Looks more like a constantine remake than anything.
6. It looks like it has many similar plot elements, but as of now it is unclear what the actual plot is and if it is the same as the games.
